Why this icon The longtail boat, Thailand's island hopper. Source: en.wikipedia.org
Hop a longtail to the islands. Swim till sunset.
The story
Late afternoon in Phang Nga Bay: a longtail boat putters between sheer limestone islands, a traveller in its bow pointing out Ko Tapu standing in the low sun, the boatman steering at the stern, ribbons fluttering at the prow.
Why this picture
Phang Nga Bay, between Phuket and the mainland, is drowned karst: sheer limestone islands and pillars rising out of a shallow emerald bay, forested on top and fringed with mangroves; Ko Tapu is its 20 m limestone nail. Phuket's longtail boats (rua hang yao) carry travellers between them: long, narrow wooden hulls with a tall prow tied with ribbons, an engine on a pivot at the stern driving a long shaft that the boatman swings to steer. White-bellied sea eagles circle the cliffs.

The sky wears a faint Pha khao ma, from Thailand.
The motion
The bay's rows run past the hull, each its own way; two sea eagles wheel wide over the bay; the ribbons flutter at the prow; the boatman steers; the sun's rays turn. A 16-second loop.
Colour
Phuket takes Lagoon #34C2D7, one of the three Waters colours — with its icon in Steel Grey on it.
