Walk the rice paddies. Picnic by a mountain stream.
The story
A late-monsoon morning in Harabhag's rice terraces: close by, a rice plant in the flooded near paddy bows under its ripening heads among its neighbours; beyond, a traveller walks a bund between bright green paddies as egrets fly over, the farmhouse stands at the top of the terraces and low cloud lies between the pine-wooded Dhauladhar foothills under the higher ridge.
Why this picture
Harabhag is a small farming village in the Joginder Nagar valley at the foot of the Dhauladhar, about 20 km from Bir, among rice terraces, meadows and green hills. Through the monsoon the paddies are at their greenest, the streams are full and mist hangs on the hills; chir pines wood the slopes and cattle egrets stalk the wet fields.

The motion
Egrets fly across the whole sky; the sun's rays turn; the flooded paddy's water lines run and the near rice stirs; low cloud drifts a little between the hills; the traveller walks the bund. A 16-second loop.
Colour
Harabhag takes Blush #F6ADCD, one of the three Valleys colours — with its icon in Steel Grey on it.
