Why this icon Pulga's ancient deodar forest is known as the Fairy Forest. Source: en.wikipedia.org
Walk under the deodars. Get lost in the Fairy Forest.
The story
A late-spring morning in Pulga's Fairy Forest: a traveller strolls the path across a flowering clearing past the giant deodars, a village dog trotting ahead.
Why this picture
Pulga is a hamlet at 2,210 m above the Parvati, near Barshaini at the road's end, reached on foot. Its dense forest of very old, tall deodars is known as the Fairy Forest; by late spring the trails are clear of snow, the streams and little waterfalls are full, and friendly village dogs walk hikers along the paths.
The sky wears Kullu shawl, from Himachal Pradesh.
The motion
The sun's rays turn; two birds cross the sky; the dog trots and wags its tail; the traveller walks; the clearing's flowers glint in turn. A 16-second loop.
Colour
Pulga takes Orchid #AA5EA5, one of the three Valleys colours — with its icon in white on it.
