Why this icon The beach shack — Goa's front room on the sand. Source: en.wikipedia.org
A beach shack, a sunset, a sea breeze. Stay one more day.
The story
Sunset on a palm-fringed beach: the sun goes down into the Arabian Sea beside a palm-thatch shack on its stilts on the sand, its sunbeds set out in front, and a traveller stands nearer by with a green coconut.
Why this picture
Goa faces west, so its sun sets into the sea. Its beaches are lined with leaning coconut palms and, from September to May, with seasonal shacks of bamboo and palm thatch on the sand, their sunbeds set out in front; wooden fishing canoes rest in the bays and Brahminy kites glide along the shore.
The motion
The waves run in; the water lines run, row against row; the sun's fan of rays breathes; birds fly home across the whole sunset; the shack's bulbs glow in turn; the palms sway; a fishing canoe rocks offshore; kites wheel over the shore. A 16-second loop.
Colour
Goa takes Ocean #0072BC, one of the three Waters colours — with its icon in white on it.
